In reality, each of us is a bit player in a huge production that has no shortage of cast. But that perception is a product of our arrogance. Our perception of our world is that we are the focal point, the lead role, surrounded by supporting cast. The world isn't two-sided, it's a spinning coin. No Country employs no main character because life doesn't have main characters. It's like if you take a coin out of your pocket and look at the face, then flip it over and see the backside of it, then flip it over again and there is a third side. Chigurh, the instinctual killer Bell, the lawman, a problem solver by trade and Moss, the practical everyman, doing whatever is necessary to battle against his adversary and survive.

Underneath the layers of the events in the story hides the true identity of the characters: Chigurh, Bell, and Moss represent the id, super-ego, and ego.
